2012 VW Golf VII Clay Model Shown on Official Promo Video, VW Quietly Deletes Scene!

Although Volkswagen's design studio would be your best bet to get a glimpse of a future model like the seventh-generation Golf, an official video would be the last place you'd expect to actually see it. But as we all know, gaffes happen all the time. Such is the case with the Golf VII as what appears to be a full-size clay mock-up of the compact hatchback was spotted on the promotional film for the Frankfurt Show L1 concept car.

The clay model, which we believe shows a possible design direction for the next Golf seemingly inspired by the firm's latest models such as the Scirocco (notice the more pointy nose-job and the more narrow headlamps), can be seen in the background at 4:41 minutes into the video.

We had stored the original promotional video of the L1 Concept on our computer during the Frankfurt Motorshow days, but just for the heck of it, we headed over to VW's official press site to download the specific video again.

But guess what; the scene with the clay model of what we and many others reckon is a design proposal for the VW Golf VII, has been chopped and cropped in this version! If anything else, that should count for something...

Volkswagen's New Exclusive Label Applied on Special Edition Golf Estate

At the 2009 IAA Show in Frankfurt, VW announced the repositioning of the firm's Individual brand that will be marketed from now on under the "Volkswagen Exclusive" label and will adorn the range-topping versions of the company's models. The first product to be offered with the "Exclusive" badge is the new Golf Estate that is also known as the Variant in some markets while in the U.S., the previous generation model is sold as the Jetta SportWagen.

On the outside the Golf Estate Exclusive is characterized by features such as the sport chassis that lowers the ride height by 15mm, unique 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in chunkier 225/45 R17 tires and the "Exclusive" badges.

Moving on the interior, along with Highline grade's features like the automatic climate control (Climatronic), a panorama sunroof and the "RCD 210" radio-CD system, the Exclusive model adds special door tread plates, electric lumbar support, storage drawers under the front seats, leather steering wheel, leather gearshift knob and handbrake lever, carpet floor mats in front and rear with colored piping and door trim in leather look.

Furthermore, the Exclusive model comes equipped with sport seats (heated up front) in Nappa / Vienna leather offered in two different color combinations (Sioux / Titan Black or Cinnamon / Titan Black) with contrasting color seams.

While Volkswagen did not say with which engines the Golf Estate Exclusive is offered, the firm did announce that prices in Germany start from €27,145 ($39,800 at today's exchange rates).

Infiniti FX50 S Dressed Up in Styling Package by Brabus' CRD Division

Here's a proposal from this year's Frankfurt Show that somehow managed to escape our radar. Supposedly a concept study, the Infiniti FX50 S Limited Edition was created by Car Research and Development or CRD for short, a subsidiary of the Brabus Group that works directly with automakers and their national importers. Among other cars, CRD was responsible (...) for the creation of the Dodge Avenger-based Startech Starster that appeared at the 2007 Frankfurt Show.

The Infiniti FX50 S Limited Edition show car gets a set of bespoke 21-inch turbine-design light-alloy wheels in a grey finish, while the front grille, side air inlets in the front fenders and the roof bars are also painted grey.

The luxury SUV's cabin is upholstered in high-quality leather with contrasting light brown stitching while the carbon-fiber trim in a dark brown finish and the alcantara trim on the headliner and pillars round off the interior upgrades.

And yes, we too are wondering why Brabus / CRD even bothered to call this creation a concept study...

VIDEO: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster Promo Tells us What Are the Chances of Owning One

You would assume that anybody with basic math skills could probably figure out what the chances are of owing one of the 20 (more or less) Lamborghini Reventon Roadster models that are destined for production. However, we must say that this promotional film, which was created by the German agency Philipp und Keuntje for the Frankfurt Motor Show, somewhat confused us.

Bypassing all the other stats mentioned in the ad, it is claimed that the chances of owning the €1,1 million Italian special is 1 in 700,000,000.

Okay, so world's total population is approximately 6,8 billion (not that it matters, but we also learned that there are about 134 million babies born every year).

If we're not making a humiliating blunder, shouldn't it be 1 in 340,000,000? That is, unless Lamborghini is planning to limit total production of the topless Reventon to around 10 examples or the film is talking about the number of vehicles available for sale excluding those spoken for.

Well, either way, someone (yes that is me) spent way too much time on a promo film that to be completely honest, is nothing special, to say the least.

Citroen's Frankfurt Show Stars on Video: C3 Hatchback, DS3 Premium Supermini and REVOLTe Concept

This year's Frankfurt auto show saw Citroen taking the wraps off three distinct model; the C3 five-door hatchback and the production version of its more upscale three-door sibling, the DS3, as well as the REVOLTe concept, a distinctively modern interpretation of the iconic 2CV. You've already seen the pics and read the details but now it's video time as the French automaker has cooked up a series of promotional films for all three models that you can check our right after the break.

Video and Live Shots of MINI Roadster and Coupe Concepts from 2009 Frankfurt Show

Being one of the main attractions at this year's Frankfurt Show, we couldn't leave you without live photos as well as video footage of MINI's sporty Coupe and Roadster concept cars. The two models are destined to enter series-production and are expected to go on sale within the next couple of years. MINI said that the coupe and its soft-top roadster sibling will most likely be available with the most powerful engines offered in the hatchback range, meaning the 1.6-liter turbocharged units in the Cooper S and Cooper S JCW with 175HP and 208HP respectively. Hit the break for the videos and photo album.
