Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Italian Police Car Crashes Into Parked Vehicles

Only a year after joining the ranks of the Italian State Police, and the world famous Lamborghini LP560-4 Polizia has been totaled in a weird crash that occurred near Cremona this past weekend. Italy's Corriere Della Sera newspaper reported that the police officer in the 560-horsepower 'Raging Bull' supercar was allegedly cruising on the road when a vehicle pulled out all of a sudden from of a petrol station.

In order to avoid a head-on collision, the police officer swerved and crashed into a couple of parked cars. As you can see in the photo shots in the video below, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 ended up, or rather under a Mercedes-Benz A-Class...

The newspaper said that the police officers in the driver and passenger seat of the Lamborghini were slightly injured.

Real or Fake? Gran Turismo Ad Shows 1969 Corvette Stingray and 1988 Lamborghini Countach Scraping Sides

After watching this Japanese Gran Turismo PSP commercial of a '69 Corvette Stingray and a '88 Lamborghini Countach clashing sides on the race track more than a dozen times, we still can't tell if it's a real-life or a computer simulated scene. But then again, that's exactly what makes this commercial so successful in our opinion; for one, you'll want to watch it again and again but most importantly, it gets the message across that the video game blurs the lines of reality and fantasy. Video and High-Res Photos from Nat Geo's Ultimate Factory Show: Building the New Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV

Guilty as charged; we're suckers for shows that give us an inside tour of automotive plants and the making of cars. And beginning from this Thursday, October 1st, we'll be getting our weekly dose of vehicle manufacturing with National Geographic's new one-hour episodes of "Ultimate Factories" that focus on the making of various automobiles including the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, Rolls Royce Phantom, Chevrolet Camaro and the Porsche 911.

Hopefully at some point NatGeo will also show the making of cars from other countries/regions such as France, Japan, China and South Korea. If anything else, it will be interesting to see the differences and similarities in manufacturing methods between different brands.

The October 1st episode of "Ultimate Factories" takes us to Lamborghini's factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy for the making of the Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce (SV) that was introduced tp the public for the first time at the Geneva Salon this past March.

The most hardcore version of the Murcielago is 100kg (220 lbs) lighter than its "regular" counterpart while power comes from a tweaked version of Lamborghini's 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers an extra 30HP for a total output of 670HP. The result is a 0 to 62mph (100km/h) sprint time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 342km/h or 212mph.

Lamborghini plans to limit production of the Murcielago LP670-4 SV to a total of 350 units. Each example is said to be custom-built to order with the plant churning a mere 2.7 completed cars a day.

VIDEO: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster Promo Tells us What Are the Chances of Owning One

You would assume that anybody with basic math skills could probably figure out what the chances are of owing one of the 20 (more or less) Lamborghini Reventon Roadster models that are destined for production. However, we must say that this promotional film, which was created by the German agency Philipp und Keuntje for the Frankfurt Motor Show, somewhat confused us.

Bypassing all the other stats mentioned in the ad, it is claimed that the chances of owning the €1,1 million Italian special is 1 in 700,000,000.

Okay, so world's total population is approximately 6,8 billion (not that it matters, but we also learned that there are about 134 million babies born every year).

If we're not making a humiliating blunder, shouldn't it be 1 in 340,000,000? That is, unless Lamborghini is planning to limit total production of the topless Reventon to around 10 examples or the film is talking about the number of vehicles available for sale excluding those spoken for.

Well, either way, someone (yes that is me) spent way too much time on a promo film that to be completely honest, is nothing special, to say the least.

We'd advise you to sit down comfortably, relax and turn up the volume on your speakers - okay, those working in an office should forget about the above and pretend that they are talking with someone important on the phone nodding their head up and down every so often. The two videos, courtesy of Drivers-Republic, show the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce on the road and at UK's Silverstone race track where the 670HP Raging Bull model recorded a lap time of 2 minutes and 8.10 seconds beating the Porsche 911 GT2 by two seconds and the (much less costly and powerful) Nissan GT-R by 2.1 seconds.

Video: Gumball 2008 Lamborghini Driver Blamed for Accident that was Caught on Tape

A traffic accident involving a Ford Excursion with a large trailer that occurred on Sunday, August 10th on the I-5 South highway in California was caught on tape by one of the Gumball 3000 drivers. According to the initial SigAlert report, the Gumball driver of the black Lamborghini caused (without explaining how) the Ford Excursion to loose control, spin and finally flip over.

This is one of those videos that you watch again and again to see if you can make ends meet. We saw the video more than 15 times, and in our opinion, we can’t see how the Lamborghini was involved in the accident. Maybe it was another vehicle in front of the Lambo or perhaps even the driver of the Ford is at fault –we honestly can’t say. Once in a while, we all like to clean up our cars ourselves -there’s nothing wrong with that. What’s indescribably wrong is to park a Lamborghini Gallardo in the centre of Bucharest, capital of Romania, and wash it using a bucket and water from a fountain across the street! Unless the guy in the video doesn’t own the yellow-mellow Gallardo and he’s doing it just for kicks –which we seriously doubt as someone would have contacted the actual owner-, we have no option but to crown him as the royal prince of stinginess. -Video after the jump
