Nailed It + A Giveaway
You know what feels great? Getting a fresh manicure and

Holiday Cards & Tiny Prints Giveaway
I really should have called this "Giveaway Week"... but more on that later.

Have you started on your holiday greeting cards? Thanks to Tiny Prints, I've got this task off my To Do list. I really loved loved loved the cards I got from Tiny Prints last year so I was excited to buy from them once again. Not only does Tiny Prints have unique and memorable card designs, but the card stock they use feels great in your hands, and they ship to Canada! Awesome.
Using the Tiny Prints site is so easy too. I really like the "My Picks" feature which allows you to save designs you like as you browse. I like to browse though all the designs, pick out a few favourites, do some mock ups so I can see what the finished product will look like, and buy the one I like best. Tiny Prints makes that whole process fast and easy.
Most of the card elements are customizable; you can easily change the text, font, font size, colours, and layouts. Here's a few of the designs I considered using. I love the round ones you can hang as an ornament!
And here's the card from last year. Wow, what a difference a year makes, eh?
Aren't they fun? You'll have to wait see what I chose for this year's card...it wasn't any of the ones I featured above ;) (Note: I wasn't paid to write this. I really do love Tiny Prints' products!)

Its giveaway time here at Rambling Renovators and I think you fellow HGTV-addicts are going to like this one! If you are a longtime reader, you know that my favourite designer is Sarah Richardson. And what's not to love? Her designs are always a great blend of traditional and contemporary style, warm, and inspirational.
One consistent element of all her rooms is her expert use of paint. In past seasons of her shows Design Inc. and Sarah's House, Sarah tended towards neutral blues, greys, greens and whites. With Sarah's House 3 and perhaps Sarah's House 4 (it starts shooting in a month!), Sarah has moved into a more colourful direction.
She recently launched a designer paint palette for Para Paints (available only in Lowe's Canada stores). I loved the palette so much that I wanted to share it with you - so one lucky reader will get to win the full deck of Sarah's 75 paint chips!
I know that the paint is only available here in Canada but you can always take the paint chip to your local paint store and have it colour matched. Here's how you can win:

HandyMan had a book deal well before I met him but it really took our meeting each other to get that book ball rolling, so to speak. He wrote, I found the wineries and assembled material, and over the course of that year, we fell in love.
Its hard to believe, but here we are five years later and the 2nd Edition of that book, Wine By Design, is hitting shelves this week! But lucky you, you won't have to run to your nearest bookstore because I am giving away one copy, signed by HandyMan of course :)

iWanna give you an iTouch!
If you know me, you know I like gadgets. When I'm cooking in the kitchen, I love to pop the iPod into the Griffin speaker system, play some background music while I'm looking up recipes on my Mac, all the while watching Chloe TV (we have the infant monitor hooked up to our flatscreen). I love to multi-task multi techs :) So when DuPont and Ogilvy PR asked me to check out their new mySurface app on the iTouch they sent me, I was giddy as a schoolgirl.
mySurface is a free application that you can download through iTunes and load onto your device. Think of it like a paint deck but for counter surfaces. Handy, no? It contains a gallery of Corian and Zodiaq surfaces which you can view by easily scrolling through the colour bar. You can even zoom in on the pics to see the textures that more clearly, and save them to your Favourites too.
We totally could have used this app last year when we were searching for counters for our kitchen remodel. And if we had the room, we may have considered a custom Corian counter for our bathroom remodel too. It would have been easy to whip out the app while we were in the store looking at tiles or fixtures to see what surfaces could work.
