Would You Believe that this Skoda Octavia RS Photo has More than 3,400 Diggs in Less than 48 hours?

Sometimes we begin to wonder if there's any logic at what makes internet users 'click'. Take this photo for example. You'd think that it wouldn't be worth a second look, but believe it or not, this cropped picture of a red-colored Skoda Octavia RS Mk1 has received more than 3,400 votes on Digg (so far, that is) in less than 48 hours! And like most of you that are reading this post now, we too were curious to find out what makes this photo so special to draw the attention of so many internet users.

Well, to answer that question we headed over to the comment section of the specific Digg post. While some commentators "saw" a snake and others a... toilet seat at the rear bench, what really made internet users 'tick' in this case was the bear sticker on the window as it was linked to the so-called "Pedobear" which in turn is associated with pedophiles - swear to God, first time we ever heard about this.

Not surprisingly, to most folks that explanation sounds a lot better than let's say, the owner's kid simply put the sticker on the window...

But as one user on Digg wisely put it, "It's amazing how easily people are amused these days...". Nuff said.

Like its forerunner, the sportiest model of the Octavia range offers buyers the choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, a 2.0-liter TSI gasoline unit with 200HP that averages 7.5lt/100km (31.4mpg US or 37.7mpg UK) and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel with a combined consumption of 5.7lt/100km (41.3mpg US or 49.6mpg UK). 2009 Skoda Octavia RS Facelift: Updated Album with 30 High-Res Photos

After releasing initial details and photos of its facelifted Octavia RS (or vRS for the UK market) in late April, Skoda has now published a full gallery of both the five-door and estate variants of the model. For 2009, the Czech automaker's family-happy GTI gets a restyled front fascia, revamped tail lights, updated interior trim and minor chassis upgrades. Both Octavia RS models are offered with two engine options, a 2.0-liter TSI petrol unit with 200HP and a 2.0-liter TDI diesel producing 170HP. Skoda Launches Limited-Run Edition Octavia vRS

As we await for the presentation of the 2010 Octavia vRS based on the faclifted Octavia that was revealed at the Paris Show last October, Skoda UK has launched a limited-run edition of the current-generation model that promises to bring more bang for your pound. Only 500 cars will be produced with buyers having the choice of two engine options, a 200HP 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit or a 170HP 2.0-liter turbo diesel.

The Octavia vRS Limited Edition, has a unique production number stitched onto the seat and offers over £1,900 worth of added equipment for an added cost of only £750. The upgrades over the standard vRS include bespoke design Italian leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, new touch screen Bolero radio, three-spoke leather steering wheel, new interior dash trim and, red and black limited edition badging.

Prices for the limited-run model start from £16,294.56 (with VAT paid) on the road.

Skoda Octavia Facelift: 57 High-Res Photos and Official Info

As a world premiere, Skoda is going to present the subtly facelifted Octavia at the Paris Motor Show that runs from 2-19 October, 2008. Key exterior enhancements include the newly shaped headlamps, a more robust radiator grille, restyled bumpers and tail lamp covers. Inside, Skoda redesigned the steering wheel, the dashboard (white-backlit), the air conditioning controls and the decorative strips on the doors and the central console. Other improvements include the new adaptive xenon headlamps and the installation of front ‘WOKS’ headrests that promise to offer more effective rear impact protection. Under the bonnet, the only change concerns the addition of the VW Group’s new 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged gasoline engine that generates an output of 122 HP. The new TSI unit can be combined with a seven-speed twin-clutch automatic DSG transmission.
