MFK Boosts Previous Generation Audi RS6 to 520HP with new Tuning Package

The first Audi RS6 may have long been replaced by a newer generation model, but tuners in Europe are still offering performance packages for both the sedan and Avant variants of the German sports car. MFK's tuning package for the RS6 includes an engine kit with a new exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU that help increase the 4.2-liter turbocharged V8's output by 70HP, from 450HP to 520 horsepower.

The engine upgrades are complemented by the modified air-inlets on the front bumper and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels in a black finish with silver rims that are wrapped in high-performance sport tires from Dunlop size 285/25 R20.

AVUS Issues Press Release on Audi RS6 'White Power' Name, Blames Translator

Dang the power of online media... Just hours after the release of AVUS Performance's modified Audi RS6 Avant that stirred a huge online controversy over its name "White Power" (see what was said on julino billym here), as many people interpreted it as a racial slur, the German company issued an official statement apologizing to those that were offended. The tuning firm said that it was a matter of mistranslation from German to English blaming its press agency. AVUS also said that the car will be renamed simply to Audi RS6 V10 biturbo.

Our opinion? This whole matter brings to mind the Southpark episode "Chef Goes Nanners". In a nutshell, all the adults were in a racial fight over South Park's flag that depicted white figures hanging a black one on a scaffold, so they asked the opinion of the boys who debated the topic at school.

And while everyone thought that the boys were divided over the racial subject, in the end it is revealed that the boys hadn't even noticed the color of the figures shown on the flag. The whole time they thought that the issue at hand was capital punishment...

AVUS PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

Dear visitors, readers and customers,

We are very sorry and unfortunate for what has actually happened and is currently happening to our first press report. Due to a mistranslation of our latest project car - the Audi RS6 V10 biturbo - there were lots of radical right-wing rumors on all different blogs and pages that received our first press report. We distance ourselves from the project title - it was done by our press agency which obviously mistranslated our German project name into English. Furthermore we distance ourselves from anything that has to do with that group synonym and we would also like to say sorry if anyone got personally touched.

Deepest Regards

The AVUS PERFORMANCE Team

O.CT Tuning Audi R8 and Audi RS6 Avant

Audi RS6 and R8 O.CT TuningAustrian tuning firm ‘O.CT’ has set its eyes this time on Audi’s range-topping sports cars, the R8 and the RS6 Avant. Starting off with the R8, O.CT has developed a custom made sport-exhaust system that helps the 4.2-liter V8 engine gain an extra 26 HP and 20 Nm of torque thus raising total output to 446 HP and maximum torque to 450 Nm.

Although there are no other modifications, the O.CT prepped R8 manages to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 5.3 sec and to 250 km/h (155mph) in 31 sec outpacing the standard R8 by 0.3 and 3 sec respectively. Top speed is also up by 9 km/h to 310 km/h or 193mph. -Continued

Audi RS6 and R8 O.CT TuningLike so many other tuners, O.CT believes that the RS6’s 580 HP 5.0-liter V10 engine could use a few extra ponies. That’s why the Austrian tuning firm developed a new engine control unit (ECU) and a custom made sport exhaust system for the RS6 raises total output by 70 HP to 650 HP and maximum torque by 100 Nm to 750 Nm.

With this sport kit the O.CT RS6 Avant sprints from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.9 sec and to 250 km/h (155mph) in 23.9 sec undercutting the standard RS6 Avant by 0.5 and 3.3 sec respectively. As for top speed, O.CT offers buyers the option to choose between two settings, one that allows the RS6 Avant to go up to 300 km/h or 187mph or all the way up to 325 km/h or 202mph.

EVO Pits the Audi RS6 Avant against the R8 to see which is Fastest

Audi RS6 vs Audi R8British car magazine EVO has tested two of the most desirable Audi’s of our time, the RS6 Avant and the R8 to find out which is the fastest; the 580HP V10-powered family orientated estate or the 420HP mid-engined supercar. Officially, the German automaker claims that both cars post identical 0-62mph (100km/h) and 0-124mph (200km/h) times of 4.6 sec and 14.9 sec respectively, but let’s see what the GPS receivers of the VBOX had to say about that.

In terms of sprint times, the R8 is faster than the RS6 Avant up to 90mph as it needs 4.1 to go from zero to 60 (96km/h) and 8.0 sec to 90mph (145km/h) while the RS6 Avant stopped the clock at 4.3 and 8.3 sec respectively. From 90mph and above, the RS6 takes the lead sprinting from 0 to 120mph (193 km/h) in 13.8 sec and to 150mph (241 km/h) in 23.0 sec (R8: 14.6 and 25.0 sec respectively). The two cars manage to achieve the same time of 12.7 sec in the quarter mile sprint. -Continued

Audi RS6 AvantHowever, the R8 proves to be the ‘king’ of in-gear times crushing the RS6 Avant: 50-70mph in fourth takes 3.4 sec -0.3 sec less than the RS6, while 110-130mph in sixth gear, 7.2 sec or a whopping 2.6 sec faster than the Avant. Same goes for stopping power as the R8 came to a standstill from 100mph (160 km/h) in 4.1 sec and 289.9 ft compared to the RS6 Avant’s 4.3 sec and 299.4 ft.

EVO also tested the two range-topping Audis on the Bedford Autodrome race track. Once again, the R8 proved to be faster with a lap time of 1:26.5, or 1.4 sec less than the RS6 Avant.

Audi R8 WhiteSo overall, it’s safe to say that the R8 is the quickest -and apparently the more rewarding from a driver’s point of view. But, before you make any judgments, just hold on a minute and think about this; we’re talking about a luxurious, full size station wagon that combines supercar-like performance and enough space to haul your entire family and a fortnight’s worth of luggage…

Sportec Releases Performance kit for the Audi RS6 Avant

Following in the footsteps of so many other tuners, Sportec has announced that it too has released a sport package for the Audi RS6 Avant. The Swiss tuning firm’s Stage 1 performance kit (apparently Sportec will present more powerful kits in the near future) includes a reprogrammed ECU that adds 70 HP to the RS6’s 5.0-liter bi-turbocharged V10 raising total output to 650 HP at 6,300 rpm. Maximum torque has also been lifted to 740 Nm (546-lbs/ft) at 2,500-4,500 rpm. -Continued

Sportec says that with the Stage 1 performance kit the RS6 Avant can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.4 sec versus the standard car’s 4.6 sec and go on to a top speed of 305 km/h or 190mph. Buyers can also opt for a lowering kit and a set of 20 or 22-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

Audi RS6 Avant Tuned to 650 HP by IMSA

Audi RS6 Avant IMSA 650HPMostly known for its Lamborghini tuning propositions, IMSA decided to join in the Audi RS6 craze that has hit the German tuning scene by presenting a souped-up version of the range-topping Avant model. Modifications to the engine that include a remapped ECU and a new exhaust system boost the 5.0-liter V10’s output to 650 HP (from 580 HP) while torque has also been increased to 745 Nm or 550-lbs/ft. The result is a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 4.2 sec versus the standard RS6 Avant’s 4.6 sec. According to IMSA, the outrageously powered station wagon can accelerate from standstill to 200 km/h (125 mph) in just 13.8 sec and on to a top speed of over 300 km/h or 187 mph. -Continued

Additional modifications include a lower suspension setting and a set of ultra light 20-inch alloy wheels derived from the company’s tuning kit for the Gallardo that are wrapped around 275 performance tires.
